Steinig Tal Kennel was established in 1978 dedicating ourselves to breeding, importing and training German Shepherds for working in police, service, sport and family situations. All of our stock are European lines, concentrating on working German lines with structure, health and working ability. Many of our progeny have been utilized in police and service work, as well as sport competition. We whelp a limited number of litters per year while concentrating on training police K9’s for various departments in the state of Wisconsin, as well as surrounding states in the Midwest.
We currently work in conjunction with Fox Valley Technical College’s Criminal Justice Program in the training and certification of Patrol, Narcotic and Dual Purpose K9’s. We offer initial training, handler training and maintenance training for Police departments throughout the Midwest.
We also utilize and compete in Schutzhund to show the working and temperament of our breeding stock and progeny. Our progeny have been used in police, sport, service such as seeing eye and search and rescue. We take great pride in the quality of our dogs and pups produced here at the kennel. We also train to provide the highest quality Police K9 for our various departments.
The Kennel offers various training environments such as:
- Acres of land for tracking and area searches
- Vehicles for concealing narcotics
- Various rooms and buildings for searches
- Training field for obedience and box searches
Numerous K9 team graduates from Steinig Tal K9 Academy have won state awards for their outstanding performance.
