STEINIG TAL POLICE K9 ACADEMY AND WAUKESHA COUNTY TECHNICAL COLLEGE

have begun working together to certify Police K9's. Certification is offered for any K9 unit interested. You may contact the kennel or Jodie Crozier WCTC for further information.

Steinig Tal Police K9 Academy offers the highest quality K9 training program.  Larry Filo, owner of Steinig Tal Police K9 Academy, has been training police dogs since 1978. Maggie Steiner has been training and part of our team for the past four years. She handles and pre-trains all of the new dogs as well as instructing during classes and Certification. One of her recent trainee's received the 2016 K9 Rookie Team of the Year award from the State Handlers Association. She also recently returned from Germany where she trains with my friends and picks out new K9's for our Spring and Fall classes. Maggie has been a great addition to our facility, involved in all training and performing decoy and muzzle work, as well.

It is the mission of Steinig Tal K9 Academy and WCTC to promote excellence in K9 training and uphold the highest of standards. See and read our standard, as compiled over the years by our numerous K9 teams.

As we meet often in training, we discuss what might be added or subtracted from this standard in order to keep our K9 Teams at their best. We all then make a decision as to what is the best way to implement the change.

Training programs offered are:

· K9 handler course for patrol/dual purpose K9

· Handler course for drug detection K9

. Maintenance training

· Annual certification offered through WCTC and STK.
